Turnstar recently supplied and commissioned a security upgrade at Eden College Johannesburg, an independent school located on Johannesburg Road in the heart of the city.
To improve vehicle access control and enhance on site safety, two Velocity automatic vehicle barriers were installed at the main entrance and exit points. Each barrier features a 3 metre arm and is powered by Turnstar’s advanced brushless DC geared motor system, delivering reliable, high speed performance in a compact footprint.
A standout feature of this installation is the inclusion of optic LED lighting along the length of each boom arm. This provides clear, high visibility guidance to drivers during entry and exit, especially in low light conditions. The illuminated arms also act as an additional safety measure, reducing the risk of accidental collisions and improving general traffic flow through the school’s gates.
Eden College required a solution that could blend performance with aesthetics. The Velocity barrier’s compact cabinet design and powder coated finish aligned well with the school’s architectural and branding standards.
