The recently launched Turnstar Charisma half height glass turnstile has created quite a stir amongst architects & designers and looks set to be the access control product of choice for a number of head offices around South Africa.
On a technical level, the Charisma is manufactured from a 304 grade brushed stainless steel tube (170mm diameter) and 8mm toughened safety glass. Internally, a heavy duty motor and gearbox is fitted which not only allow for heavy duty use, but also for ultra quiet operation. On an aesthetic level, the Charisma ticks all the boxes – It looks great and is easy to operate, only requiring a slight nudge by the pedestrian in order for the motor to start the rotation. Effortless entry and a high speed through put mean that the Charisma can allow up to 20 operations per minute.
